Drinking Water Initiative for Konstanz
It begins, as many meaningful things do, with something small: a sip of water. In Konstanz, water flows clear, fresh, and abundant. It is easy to take for granted. And yet, across the world, clean drinking water remains one of our most limited and precious resources. What feels ordinary here is, in truth, extraordinary. This quiet contradiction sparked an idea. In 2019, a group of students imagined a city with more public drinking fountains—simple places where anyone could pause, refill, and continue on their way. That idea stayed. It grew. And today, through small acts. big changes., Susan and Peter Schmid (Atelier Zobel GmbH) are helping bring it to life. Because a fountain is never just a fountain. It is a gesture. A reminder. A shift in behavior.
Less plastic. More awareness. A visible commitment to a more sustainable city. And like all meaningful change, it gathers people. On June 27, 2026 at 7:30 pm, Be Ignacio & Band will perform a charity concert at the bandstand in the Stadtgarten Konstanz—an evening of music, community, and shared purpose in support of this initiative. Together, we aim to raise €30,000 to help fund one to three public drinking water fountains. Donations can be made via bank transfer or in person at the gallery (Rosgartenstraße 4).

Transpareny & Usage of Donations
Transparency is a core principle of small acts. big changes. All donations are currently collected in a separate project account and used exclusively to build public drinking water fountains in Konstanz. No administrative, marketing, event, or personnel costs are deducted from the donations. Every euro donated goes 100 percent toward the project.
Our goal is to work with citizens to raise €30,000 to support the city of Konstanz in installing three public drinking fountains. The initiative is currently being coordinated privately by Sue Schmid. We provide regular updates on the current donation total and the project’s progress on this website and via #smallactskonstanz on Instagram.
If the city of Konstanz does not accept the donations for this project within three years (June 30, 2029) or if the project has not been implemented by that date, 100 percent of all remaining donations will be donated to Viva con Agua to support projects that provide access to clean drinking water.
Our goal is simple:
Every euro goes toward water.
Every euro is dedicated to the community.
Every euro is transparently documented.
Thank you very much for your trust and support.
