 "The people who wear our jewellery stand out from the crowd, like a great smile." - Peter Schmid Attraction: Passion: Power On the shores of Lake Constance, Peter Schmid and the renowned Atelier Zobel team explore and extend the Goldsmith's craft. Our vocation is to create truly distinctive pieces: jewelry for lovers, for friends, for families. We work for discerning individuals and collectors who value the beauty of the contemporary, yet think beyond the present. Each piece is unique in its composition of materials and forms. Meteorite, ancient ceramics, petrified pinecones; extraordinary gems carefully selected and artfully designed by world-class stone-setters; Sculptural gold and oxidized silver forms created by Peter Schmid. Creative: World: Character 'I work with materials and people from all over the world. Both have one thing in common - character! When I'm travelling, I'm especially stimulated by the character of the city. The city beat that is exemplified in art, music and architecture; the intersections between man, creativity and nature. When I'm in Konstanz, I'm inspired by the mountains and the water, and the honesty of medieval architecture. 'Beauty is discovery: living with eyes and mind fully open.' Peter Schmid - Atelier Zobel Craft: Compassion: Commitments In 2010 Carolyn Langner, Atelier Zobel gallery manager, and Sue Schmid, established the 'Commitments' series of projects. Our goal is to work with our community to maximize the impact of charitable development work. Since launch we've partnered with friends and businesses in Konstanz to raise over 20,000 euros for local as well as global projects supporting women and children. Atelier Zobel: 1968: Timelessness Celebrated for almost half a century, Zobel has become a byword for highly individual, bold and emotive jewellery. Everything springs from our unique approach to jewellery making. Based in master craftsmanship, we create new tradition by courageously seeking new and timeless forms. Our work is typified by the painterly quality of surface textures; the free use of colours; and playful tension between strong geometric forms and sensual organic lines. Our collection is inspired by the essence of jewellery: the most personal, the most tangible, the most sensual of all art forms. |
